Freshman Amy Zoglmann has been playing the piano for six years. She takes lessons from Karen Lange, former Cardianlaries teacher and current music teacher at St. Joseph Catholic School. Zoglmann plays piano and sings at the St. Joseph Catholic Church on the weekends and occasionally plays at Springview Manor for the residents. She also attends all day piano festivals to get a rating and see what she needs improvement on. “At piano festivals, there is one professional judge that comes and judges,” Zoglmann said. “It’s like league in music contest where the judges come and critique to help you prepare for regionals.” Zoglmann plans on being a music teacher in her future career. She wants to teach elementary kids the basics of music so they can advance in music as they get older. “I think I’m pretty good at music, and I enjoy it a lot,” Zoglmann said. “I would be more than happy to teach and share my talents.” |
