While some students like playing school sports and participating in clubs, sophomores Tori Kunz and Kylie Ast and freshman Laci Ast like to rodeo.

“I love doing rodeos because you can do it your whole life and keep improving and reach goals you never thought were possible,” Kylie said.

For them rodeo is their sport. With rodeos there are many opportunities and events that you can participate in.

“One of my biggest goals in high school would be to make it to nationals and trying to be in the top 10 in the nation,” Kylie said.

“It takes a lot of practice, you may get frustrated,” Kunz said. “But you need to just push through and think why you started.”

Both Kunz and Asts’ dads participated in rodeos when they were younger. This is one of the main reasons that they got started doing rodeos. Kunz started rodeoing when she was 4 years old. Kylie started when she was 5 and Laci when she was 6.

“I like doing rodeos because I love a challenge,” said Kunz. “It’s something you always have to keep working for.”

If you are looking for a challenge, or something to work with and have fun, rodeoing is a possibility. Trying different things may be out of your comfort zone but you never know if you will like if you never try.

“The run is never the same,” Laci said. “It's always different.”

“I like doing rodeos because you get to travel all over and meet new people,” Laci said.
