Homecoming reminds students to ‘Shoot For The Stars’

This year, the theme for winter homecoming week is “Shoot For The Stars”, as voted on by Stuco. Spirit days this year are pajama day on Monday, fictional character day on Tuesday, fashion disaster on Wednesday, nerd day on Thursday and as every year, Friday is red and white day to show your school spirit.

“I hope to see lots of people dress up for the spirit days,” Stuco secretary and sophomore Travis Willson said. “I also hope to see a great turnout for the game and dance.”

The medallion hunt will take place all week, with the first clue revealed on Monday. The traditional lip sync competition is Friday during AP, and there will also be a pep assembly at 1 p.m. in the gym with Kyle Trueblood and St. Joseph elementary students and middle school students also attending. Other class games will take place during the pep assembly.

Sophomore Mariah Morris is also excited about the homecoming basketball game

“I am very excited to see how the dance (team’s performance) will turn out. The dance is Lion King themed. There will be a lot of neat tricks, and I really hope the crowd likes it.”

Homecoming king candidates are seniors Marcus Berntsen, Noah Finstad, Donovan Mercer and Alex Tarrant. Queen candidates are seniors Emma Barkley, Rachel Echelberry, Samantha Koch and Taylor May.

“I was very excited when I found out that I was one of the candidates,” Berntsen said. “I was also a little surprised.”
