Cheerleaders influence young kids

posted Feb 1, 2018, 9:47 AM by Adyson Koster

The CSHS cheerleaders look to make an impact on elementary kids by offering a cheer clinic on Feb. 1. After practices, the kids will perform with the cheerleaders at the homecoming pep rally on Feb. 9. Forty-one kids signed up for the clinic, and the deadline to sign up was Jan. 16.

“The little girls are always excited and fun to work with every year,” cheer sponsor Jennifer Kunz said.

The cheerleaders put the clinic on every year around the time of fall and winter homecoming, and the clinic is open to kindergarten through fifth grade students.

“I love teaching the little girls, and it's always funny watching them copy what you do,” junior Rachel Stuhlstatz said.

For many of the cheerleaders, this will be their first time doing the cheer clinic with the kids.

“I think it will go really good, seeing the kids perform. With it being my first year, I hope it goes well,” freshman Lakin Davis said.
