Home game pep rally

The cheerleaders put on a pep rally for the first home basketball game against Douglass on Jan. 12. It was during 6th hour due to the middle school basketball tournament needing the gym later that day. It started out with cheers, followed by a word from the coaches. Then, the five starters from each varsity team did an obstacle course. The boys ended up winning.  Next, the dance team performed a dance to “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana, choreographed by sophomore and dance team member Cassie Brozovich. The cheerleaders did a few more cheers before deciding which class the spirit stick should go to by having each class chant to “We’ve got spirit”. The juniors and seniors were neck and neck, but the juniors ended up with the stick.

“I liked how most of them couldn't walk (with the basketball between their legs),” said sophomore Rianna Morris.
