With the Christmas season in full swing, all three music departments, Cardinalaires, choir, and band have been working on preparing for the upcoming Christmas music concert. The Christmas concert will be Dec. 14 and begin at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. The choir will be performing three songs at the concert. The songs are “When I Hear Those Jingle Bells”, “Something Told the Wild Geese”, and “Do You Hear What I Hear”. “I’m excited for the concert because I really enjoy performing,” freshman Ashlyn Lefebvre said. With one Christmas concert under their belt already, the Cardinalaires have been working on their songs and choreography since September. Cardinalaires will be performing “Counting Down to Christmas” and “Coming Up Christmas Time”. Cardinalaire girls will be singing “A Gift for the King” and Cardinalaire boys will sing “Oh! Christmas Tree???”. The choir and Cardinalaires will alternate performing songs. “My favorite song to perform is ‘Counting Down to Christmas’ because it’s a fun and energetic song,” freshman Rachel Stuhlsatz said. The band will be the last to perform at the concert. They have been practicing their songs since football season ended. First, they will be performing “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”. Next, they will playing “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” with senior Hanah Jones and junior Dawson Tarrant doing a duet together during the song. The third song will be “A Visit From St. Nicholas” from the story “The Night Before Christmas” by Clement Clarke Moore. Junior Chloe Henderson will be narrating the story during the song. The fourth song is “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”. The final song of the concert is a “Christmas Sing-a-Long”, which features well-known Christmas carols. Lyrics to the songs will be projected for the audience to sing along with. “Hopefully the concert turns out as well as I hope it will,” senior Cole Osner said. At the end of the concert, the quilt donated by the ladies from Old Town will be raffled off. The money made from the raffle will go towards the Florida trip in March that all three music departments will be going on.
