Stuco introduced a new co-ed game this year called Bubble Soccer to high school students. The game is set up as teams of ten that have five players on the field in plastic bubbles, and they play a regular game of soccer, except you can bump a person around very easily. The games were played in bracket play.

“I think it went well, and the kids seem to have had fun,” Stuco sponsor Callie Bartelson said.

The entire game was set up by the owners of the Bubble Soccer company at the Sports Complex. The company provided the bubbles, soccer ball, nets, and referees.

“It was a lot of fun, but also pretty tiring,” sophomore Riley Akiu said.

Senior Lucas Shaffer agreed with Akiu that the favorite part of the game for most of the players was getting to hit people and seeing them roll.

“My favorite part was getting to hit people,” Shaffer said.

There were six teams total, with only the first three being recognized. Shaffer’s team placed third, and Wyatt Botkin’s team took second. The champions were senior Wesley Hullinger, juniors Breanne Akiu, Josh Dugan, Erica Ebenkamp, Kalie Jones, Janae Pauly, Akiu, and freshmen Aaron May and Zach Mercer.
