This year, Conway Springs High School is hosting their ever door decorating competition between the teachers. The teachers have until Dec. 16 to get their doors decorated. On that day, students will cast their vote for the door they think is best. The first place winner will win a gift card for dinner. Second place will win a gift from Yoder Meats, and third place will receive a free car wash from Green Lantern Car Wash.

“I decided to have the contest because this time of year with Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are my favorite time of the year. I wanted some fun in the hallways that everyone could enjoy,” principal Brent Harrell said.

Many of the teachers have started their doors and said they are having a lot of fun decorating them.

“I have only seen the doors closer to me, but so far I feel that either the office doors or Mrs. Ronnau are the biggest competition right now,” English teacher Kristy Martin said. “We were driving to Michael's and I had no idea what I wanted to do for my door until I saw some cool paper.”

Many students said they are really enjoying seeing all of the creativity put into the doors.

“I would say my favorite door is Mrs. Mullen’s because it is comical,” sophomore Mariah Morris said. “I think the top three doors are Mrs. Mullen, Mrs. Salisbury, and then Mrs. Bartelson. I really like Mrs. Salisbury’s door because it feels like you are walking into a gingerbread house.”
