Scholars Bowl concluded its season on Feb. 1 at the Regional Scholars Bowl meet. The team has been practicing since October and competing since November. The varsity team included seniors Makenna Beesley and Courtnee Wisdom; juniors Cooper Boyles, Nathan Ohl, and Molly Schmanke and sophomore Amy Zoglmann. The meet was at Kingman High School, starting at 4 o’clock. Conway placed third in a pool of eight teams. They continued on to bracket play along with 16 other teams, placing fifth. Ohl said he thought they did okay during the season, but that they worked well together. “Nobody ever put anyone down for getting the wrong answer, and if you got it right, everyone was excited for each other. Next year should be fun,” Ohl said. For Wisdom and Beesley, who are four year members, this was the last meet to end their Scholars Bowl career at CSHS. “It could have gone better,” Wisdom said. “I’m glad I ended on a good note, and now I can move on to college and not be too upset about it.” The Scholars Bowl recognition and banquet will be held on Feb. 14 to celebrate the team and their season. “We did okay for the year,” Zoglmann said. “I think we held our own at most of the meets.” The Varsity Scholars Bowl team won third at League on Feb. 7. |
