The dance floor is nothing new to junior Chelsea Linker, as she rocks it out for the Full Out Dance Company. She has been dancing since she was five years old. “I do get nervous, but once the music starts, it feels great to be on stage,” she said. Linker goes to dance competitions for the Full Out Dance Company and performs for the school’s Cardinal Pride dance team as well. “I started at a young age and developed a love for dance,” Linker said. Full Out performs to jazz, lyrical, ballet and hip hop music. “It’s a lot of fun, but at the same time, it can be stressful,” she said. “Competition is fun. The girls I dance with and the parents are like one big dance family.” Linker has been to Wichita; Oklahoma City; Tulsa, Okla.; and Branson, Mo.; as well as cities in Arkansas and Texas for dance competitions. Her next competition, which she has already started preparing for, will be in March. |
