For the first time, a Junior Rec Committee was formed by the city’s Rec Committee. Members of the committee will help with events including youth soccer and basketball and do different projects around town.

All juniors and seniors were eligible to apply for the committee. Members include seniors Molly Hullinger, Riley Koster, Brittany Pauly, Kyla Reep and Kelsey Whitney. Junior members are Wesley Hullinger, Derek Pauly and Tiffany Willson. The students had different reasons for joining.

“I wanted to be a part of a group and volunteer for stuff around town,” Whitney said.

The first meeting was Oct. 8 at 6:45 p.m. The members of the committee went over policy and procedures and elections, along with a few other things.

After elections were held, Whitney became president and Wesley became vice president.

“I’m excited for how it is going to turn out,” Wesley said.
