Put on your dancing shoes

Every year, Student Council hosts the annual winter semi-formal. The theme this year will be masquerade, voted on by Stuco members. Semi-formal is open to students from every class to attend as well as outside dates who are currently in high school.

“I think a masquerade is a good theme for freshmen to get into,” freshman Caden Runnalls said.

Besides prom, this dance is the only formal event. The attire required for semi-formal is blouses and skirts or dresses for girls and button-down shirts or polos and slacks for boys. At the dance, snacks and drinks will be provided. Unlike homecoming, there will not be a taco bar.

“I like dressing up, but dancing might be harder,” freshman Leslie Mies said.

Another feature of the winter semi-formal is the photo booth, which will be coming back this year after the success from last year.

“I liked the photo booth last year because you could take pictures with your friends and you each can get a copy,” sophomore Caylee Harrington said.

The dance will be Dec. 5 and is expected to go from 8 to 11 p.m. Admission will be $3. It will take place in the Conway Springs High School commons area.
