Who will win: the seniors or the faculty? The seniors have been gearing up to go against the faculty of USD 356 for the annual Senior/Faculty Games March 12.The date for the games was originally March 24,  but the gym will be set up then for powerlifting tournaments, so it was moved. The female faculty members and the senior girls will go head to head in volleyball, and the male staff members and senior boys will play basketball.

“I think the teachers’ experiences will overcome the youths’ experience, and we will pretty much dominate,” science teacher Brent Martens said.

Mr. Martens plans to play with the other faculty members in the games. Some of the seniors are equally enthusiastic about their chances in the games.

“We’re going to kick butt and take names,” senior Sara Echelberry said.

Others, like senior Michael Ramirez, are not as enthusiastic as Echelberry.

“I want to say we will win, but I know better,” Ramirez said.

Both teams have much to say to each other when it comes to tough competition and a chance to show who is more dominate in each sport. Ramirez had a word of warning for the faculty.

“Watch your back because it’s going to be raining threes,” he said.

Mr. Martens also had a message for the senior class.

“Don’t be too hurt when you lose to a bunch of old men,” he said.

The girls will play volleyball at 7 p.m. with the boys following with basketball. Senior girls will be wearing their navy class shirts, boys will wear black shirts, and faculty will wear red.
