Pep rallies at CSHS are held before selected games or significant events like Fall and Winter Homecoming in order to get the students excited for the upcoming night. The last pep rally was on Jan. 5 during the last forty minutes of eighth hour. It consisted of the Cardinal Pride Band, chants, the dance team, and games featuring the girls and boys basketball teams. “I think everybody was excited to be there, and I hope that energy continues at all of the upcoming games,” pep club sponsor Jennifer Kunz said. Many students enjoy the pep rallies as a way to get out of class and try to win the spirit stick for their class. The sophomores walked away with the spirit stick this rally. The class will receive a reward Jan. 24 during AP. “It felt really good winning the spirit stick because the juniors always win,” sophomore Cierra Hiser said. There have been four pep rallies held at CSHS this school year, and the next one is scheduled for Winter Homecoming on Feb. 9th. “It pumped me up, and a lot of the classes did better than they usually do,” junior Caden Runnalls said. |
