I personally think we do. Everyone needs a snack once in awhile. Sometimes breakfast and lunch just don’t stay with you throughout the day. You can’t just eat lunch and be satisfied with that all day, especially for students who are involved in after school sports or activities and cannot go home until late. Kids sometimes need more than just lunch to keep their energy and blood sugar right. Some kids don’t eat breakfast at home, and some don’t eat lunch at school. If some kids don’t like what we are having for breakfast or lunch, they could get something out of the vending machines instead of going hungry all day. Therefore, in my opinion, we need better selections of healthy breakfast, lunch and drink choices in our vending machines for everyone. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it gives us energy to start learning. There are a lot of healthy snacks that are good for extra energy and brain power. Fruit, nuts, granola bars, cheese sticks, healthy Pop Tarts, and baked or reduced fat items keep our energy level up to stay focused on our studies, according to Fitness magazine's website. Milk, juice, Gatorade, and water are good ways to keep us hydrated throughout the day. Whatever you choose to eat, it is important to have a healthy diet, and vending machines can help with that. |
