Imagine a whole galaxy's fate resting on your shoulders. That's the story in “Zodiac” by Romina Russell. It is a amazing book with several twist and turns along the way. Rhoma Grace is a 16-year-old girl from the planet Cancer. She grew up on Thebe, one of Caner’s moons, with her dad and brother; her mom disappeared when she was little. One day, during a test at her school, Rhoma saw an omen in the stars where darkness swallowed Thebe. Later that day, the omen is fulfilled with a huge explosion on Thebe, and a lot of people are killed. She and the other survivors jump on an escape pod and head back to Cancer. When she checks the stars again, she sees Cancer’s other three moons flicker. As she closes the star viewer, the escape pod hits a debris field, and their ship quakes. Lodestar Mathias, another one of the survivors, comes and and tells them that the other moons have collided and their planet’s leader is dead. With the debris from the moons threatening Cancer, they went instead to the satellite that orbits Cancer where some of the other survivors were. She then faces several different and challenging problems and makes some new friends and enemies along the way. I would give this book five cardinal heads out five. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes the Harry Potter or Percy Jackson series. I can't wait to get “Wandering Star”, the next book in the series. |
