On Feb. 13, Aubrey “Drake” Graham released his sixth album, “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.” This album includes songs featuring artists such as Travi$ Scott, PartyNextDoor, and Lil Wayne. “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late” has been on the Billboard Top 100 for 7 weeks, with a peek at #1, and sold 495,000 copies in its first week, Drake’s third biggest selling album. Although this album is marked as explicit and pretty much every song contains a list of derogatory words, many fans feel like that’s what makes Drake not like everyone else. His songs aren’t just made up scenarios that he hasn’t experienced, he writes his songs about pain, love, happiness, anger and about any other feeling that one could possibly feel. My favorite song on the album is “Legend.” It’s about dying a legend and how everyone wants to be remembered in some type of way. Everyone is a legend in their own mind. A week before the official release of the album, someone hacked Drake’s Twitter account and tweeted out an iTunes link to the album on OVO’s official SoundCloud page, but that was quickly removed. Neither Drake nor any of his publicists have commented on who hacked his Twitter or why it was hacked. “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late” is sold where CD’s are normally sold, including iTunes, and Wal-Mart carries the clean version of the entire album. I rate this 5 out of 5 cardinal heads because of the truth in Drake’s lyrics and the soul that he puts into every song on this album. |
