The seventh season of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” is off to a bloody start. The first episode definitely answered who Negan, the show’s newest bad guy, would kill, and it was done brutally, with both Abraham and Glenn taking Lucille — Negan’s bat wrapped with barb wire — to the head. Glenn’s last words were “Maggie, I’ll find you.” It was a very sad moment for the people of Alexandria. Negan took Rick, the group’s leader, and mentally broke him down. Rick realized that he was no longer in charge and had to do as Negan said or face the consequences. Just to prove that he was now in charge, he almost had Rick cut Carl's hand off. It worked for now, but I have a feeling that the people of Alexandria will rise up and join with the Kingdom to defeat Negan and his Saviors in the end of this season. Maggie should be the one to kill Negan because Glenn was her husband, and right now, she is the only one who wants to fight back. If Maggie isn’t the one to do it, I hope it will be Carol because she left before Negan took over. Carol will be angry to find out that Negan has killed Glenn and Abraham, and maybe that anger will get her to fight alongside the Kingdom and Alexandria to defeat Negan and his Saviors. This first episode was definitely one of the most intense, emotionally powerful, and insane episodes of “The Walking Dead” in a while. Even though I hate seeing Glenn go, it was one of their best episodes so far. I expect this season to be very intense and full of blood, sweat, and tears. |
