On their first game of 2016, the boy's and girl’s Cardinal’s faced the Douglass bulldogs for the first time this basketball season. The teams traveled to Douglass for the competition.

The girl’s varsity team started their game against Douglass with a record of 3-2. Although both teams struggled, the varsity girls and boys came out on top at the end of their games.

“The game went as planned. We dominated” said senior and varsity starter Alicia Carter.

The girls are now 4-2.

“Douglass was one of the top ranked teams in the state, but we weren’t worried,” junior and varsity starter Kalie Jones said. “We played with confidence and heart.”

The varsity boy’s record is 5-1. The final score of the Douglass game was 48-31 for the girls and 48-44 for the boys.

“I think we played good, but there is always room for improvement,” said junior and varsity starter Jacob Winter.
