At the home basketball game this Friday, Jan. 16, the Conway Springs Cardinals will go head-to-head against the Wichita Independent Panthers.

“It will be a tough game, but I think we will come out on top,” junior Anthony Becker said.

The JV games will begin in the high school gym with the Lady Cards at 4:30 p.m. The girls varsity game will start at approximately 6 p.m. in the high school (following the JV girls), and the girls freshman/sophomore game will be at 7:30 p.m. in the middle school.

JV player and freshman Lacey Pauly  says she has seen improvement in the team.

“We work hard and understand our plays a lot better, and we work as a team,” Pauly said.

Boys freshman/sophomore team will play at 4:30 p.m. at the middle school, and the JV game will start at 6:00 p.m., also in the middle school. The boys varsity game will begin after the girls varsity game ends, at approximately 7 p.m., in the high school.

Varsity player and sophomore Jacob Winter said he feels the team has grown and will continue to improve.

“Our execution has gotten better, but we still have a long way to go,” Winter said.

There are only four more home games left in regular season play. The next home game will be Friday, Feb. 6. If you are unable to attend the game, you may see it streamed live here.
