The home basketball game against the Chaparral Roadrunners was bitter for the Cardinals Jan 9. The Cardinals tied with Chaparral at the end of the fourth quarter but were defeated by four points in overtime. “It was a tough loss; we let it slip away with a bunch of little mistakes,” freshman player Zach Mercer said. Both the boys and girls varsity teams lost to Chaparral. Both boys and girls finished their seasons with a loss during the second round of sub-state.
