Conway Springs High School participated in the Kingman Classic Tournament last week. This was the first tournament of the season, and the boys said they were anxiously waiting to play.

In the first game against Wellington Dec. 6, the boys lost by two points after going into triple overtime.

“It was pretty crazy and intense, but unfortunately did not go our way,” freshman varsity player Peyton Winter said.

The boys also played Haven on Dec. 8. After an intense game, the team ended up with a win. They won by three points and were put in the bracket to play in the Classic on Saturday, Dec. 10.

“It was pretty good,” sophomore varsity player Zach Mercer said. “Jacob (Winter) was awesome; he got like 20 points.”

On the last day of the tournament, the boys played Kingman. The boys beat Kingman and ended the tournament in fifth place.

“We’re doing pretty good so far, but there's always room for improvement - and I think we can do that,” freshman varsity player Joshua Koester said.
